Chemo Week 3, Day 3 A Heartfelt, and overdue, Thank you
We have had the most incredible outpouring of love and generosity and support, quite literally dumped on us in the last month! It has been unexpected and incredibly humbling. I really need to take a few moments to send some shout outs to some amazing people.
Please note that these are in no particular order
To Matt's incredible team at Chantilly High School : I cannot thank you enough. And to think that none of you have ever met me -- I am speechless. I mean I know that my husband is loveable but I can't tell you how much it means to me that you all appreciate him as much as you must to be taking such good care of our family. Not only have you been BEYOND understanding about his needs at work but also the hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards and gifts you sent (our boys love the Dancing Jesus, by the way), the books are exactly my style and the notes made Matt and I both cry. Thank you so much! OH and the meals!! We appreciate them so much, Ms. Kim the Kimchi and pork with fried rice was a big hit. And Morgan -- your brownies were quite literally fought over!
To my mother who selflessly drove me to at least a half dozen appointments all over the Northern Virginia area and helped get the kids up for school and fed them French Toast (they still complain that mine is not as good as yours). And you kept our secret when we weren't ready to tell anyone. Thank you so much.
To my brother Robert, for the beautiful bouquet of Sunflowers because you know they are my favorite. I know that you call ME "sunshine" but you have always been a source of light and illumination in my life. Thank you. Oh and thank you for bringing that non-rolling cooler all the way to our house. I'm sorry I can't use it but it was so thoughtful.
To my cousin Erin and her wonderful husband Michael, for the helpful gifts of cute hats (in anticipation of my hair falling out), the lip gloss and the candies. Those candies have been a Godsend! Thank you so much.
To my good friend Jenny who brought me homemade spaghetti that was "just for me". I'm sorry I did end up sharing some with Matt, it was too much just for me. But I did eat most of the meatballs! so yummy! Thank you.
To my sister Mel and her husband Doug for the actually rolling cooler that arrived just in time and just the right size. Thank you! oh and thank you and Amy for the much needed girly movie night! Let's do it again soon!
To my incredible Mother and Father-in-law, Lana & Ray, for their endless support. They are always there when we need them to pick me up from the hospital or pick up our kids from school. You two are always there when we call. Thank you.
To our friends Christine and John who surprised us with a delicious and beautiful delivery from Flower Fairies. The flowers are still brightening my kitchen and Matt took the leftover chicken salad croissants for his lunch today, I ate the salad. We all had a great time trying out all the delicious flavors on the charcuterie board during dinner last night. Thank you!
To my old friend Kat who sent down a delightful rabbit hole of Korean Drama -- that was quite the trip! Thank you! Lets not wait another 15 years to text!
And to the HUGE list of people who keep sending your prayers and your kind words, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We had no idea so many people loved us!
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
